Spring Wedding Invitation Ideas

12.06.2011

Okay all you Spring brides, this one's for you! Your wedding is almost here and if you haven't thought about your invitations yet, now is the time to get started. One of the benefits of having a spring wedding is that you're not very limited with your color-scheme since it's a transitioning season you can with deep purples or elegant blacks or bright corals and greens.

Each year, Pantone release color trends for the upcoming season. The 2012 Spring/Summer wedding colors are out!

What are your color choices for your Spring wedding?

Wedding decor

6.30.2011

Summer weddings are upon us! The invitations have been sent, the photographer booked, the cake in the oven. Before you start to put your feet up and enjoy the quiet, you may want to think about some of the last minute details that will tie together your entire day. It's great to have a cake, invitations and flowers that match your decor, but the little details are what really tie it all together.

Check out our checklist of nitty gritty details.

* Seating arrangements: whether you decide to proceed with place cards that will guide guests to their tables or a large seating chart that matches perfectly with your decor, you will need to find a way to let guests know where to go.

* Menu cards: Let your guests know what they'll be eating with menu cards to match your theme. Many couples choose to include a small thank you on the bottom of their menus.

* Table numbers: This is probably one of the simplest and cost effective ways to add detail to your wedding. As a cost saving alternative, opt for a tent card that includes your table number on one side and menu card on the other side.

* Favour tags: It's common to hand out favours at the end of the night as a way to say thank you to your guests for joining in your wedding. Tags usually include your names and wedding date and a small thank you message.

* Thank you cards: These can be ordered through your photographer or be created to match your invitations. One of my favourite new trends are thank you postcards!

The Americas invitation suite

6.02.2011

This classic invitation suite was created by one our DIY invitation clients. Lisa and Jason had designed their perfect invitations and needed someone to put together the final look with paper, printing and assembly. This is often a common compromise for the DIY bride who still wants the polished look of professional invitations.

This suite includes:
- main invitation
- RSVP postcard
- map/accommodations card

The couple wanted a sparkly invitation with all metallic paper and a modern address label to match.
An address label is the new way to address invitations and/or RSVP cards.

Lisa and Jason will be married on August 20, 2011 at Miller Lash House in Toronto.

Want to use purple in a summer wedding?

3.03.2011

Purple is a hot colour this year! But what about those summer brides who don't want a dark colour scheme for their wedding?
Follow these tips on how to incorporate a beautiful purple into a summer colour scheme.
Be sure to use purple as an accent colour, not the main colour of your wedding theme. Keep the main colours light and airy using white, ivory, yellow, silver and other neutral colours as the base.
Add in hints of purple accents in the flowers, decor items, invitations and lighting. A strong and vivid color that adds a touch of mystery, is used to create special climates and no doubt to hit!.
